Essential Question
All matter is made up of atoms. To model atoms, scientists currently use Schrodinger's Electron Cloud Model. This model has a very small but dense and positively charged nucleus. It is surrounded by many moving negatively charged electrons. This electrons move in patterns around the nucleus making it appear to be just a cloud. Atoms however are made up primarily of empty space. For scientists to arrive at this theory they had to combine the theories of many scientists.

Lab Question
After several test comparing the four unknown metal salts to known compounds we have made several discoveries. We believe Unknown A is SrCl2 due to the fact it burned slowly with a vibramt red color.
Unknown B is thought to be KCl because it burns in a very light purple color. Unknown C is thought to be CaCl2 Because it burns a bright orange color and is not visible through cobalt gass. Unkown D is LiNO3 because it burns a red color.

Essential Questions
Scientists measure quantities by using several different pieces of lab equipment. Based on the quality of the equipment, scientists may have measurements with different degrees of precision and accuracy. This results in the need for significant figures which allows you to write the answer with the correct number of digits.
Error in measurement can be eliminated by using significant figures and accurate tools.

Summer Highlight
The highlight of my summer this year was going to the outer banks. Several oother guys from NDCL were down there at the same time so we met up and played lacrosse. It was a great time and I wish to do it again.
